Laura moves east, causes destruction in Louisiana
Northeast Texas and Bowie County will be spared the brunt of Hurricane Laura’s broad path of destruction today.
The powerful Category 4 hurricane made landfall around 1 a.m. with devastating results. The area around Lake Charles, Lousiana and the surrounding coast bore the greatest impacts of the storm. Major roadways were closed, commercial buildings were destroyed and severely damaged, and close to half a million people are without power this morning.
