Parking spot ministry

Parking spot ministry

I pulled my car into my favorite coffee place, deciding in seconds to go inside instead of going through the drive-thru window. A little hot brew is a necessity for the ongoing day.

As I inched off the highway, a woman walked up to a parked car to my left, to the driver’s door. She tapped on the window, but the person in the vehicle did not respond or open the pane.

I watched the thin, middle-aged woman, ragged in appearance, who needed a hairbrush and walked inside. She then approached a man next who hurried across the parking lot. His head went sideways, and he gave her his answer—moving her along. I was still sitting in my car, in the only available parking spot left, and I observed the wandering woman and her gait. It’s something I do. I love to watch others, and then I love to picture them like Jesus—holy, righteous, and new in Him.
