Ommer Eugene Bruce, Sr. was born on November 9, 1932 to the late Henry and Azzie Bruce. The fourth child of 8 children. He was ordained as a Baptist minister on August 2, 1987, and was a member of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas. On August 20, 1991, he received his preacher’s license to preach in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in De Kalb, Texas.
