Sandy, who was in rehab for drugs, had gone to the doctor for a lump in her breast. The diagnosis of cancer initially didn’t slow her down because she was determined to worship God and hold on. She believed that no matter what, she belonged to Him. She was His child, and He was with her, and yes, her past did cause her to reflect, seek Christ, and find redemption in the Lord. Her rescue from physical drugs became a spiritual journey too.
But, after her recovery, and as the days grew longer, she grew tired and weary and requested a favorite song from the worship team at a church where I spoke, and she cried through the verses—everyone. She struggled with her diagnosis, struggled to understand, and struggled to remain strong.
The song she heard that we sang was Revelation by Third Day, which became her anthem of hope. The lyrics say, “Give me a revelation, show me what to do, ’cause I’ve been trying to find my way, I haven’t got a clue. Tell me should I stay here, or do I need to move? Give me a revelation. I’ve got nothing without You. I’ve got nothing without You.”
