A Bowie County constable says performing his professional duties is personally costing him and the county hasn’t responded.
Chad Ford, precinct 2 constable, spoke before the Bowie County Commissioners Court during their annual budget hearing Wednesday to request an increase in his in-county travel allowance.
“I guess this is the sixth time I’ve spoken with y’all about my expenses for in-county travel. At this point in my tenure, I’m in my third year in office and I’m about $12,000 out of pocket to run my office,” Ford told the court.
