The 6th annual West Bowie County Back to School Bash returned to New Boston on Saturday with food and fun for all ages.
The annual event was hosted by Plentiful Harvest Church and Mission Center and featured much needed school supplies for local school children, free backpacks and free haircuts. Vistors enjoyed free food prepared by the men and women of the New Boston Fire Department and the community sponsored event ended with happy smiles and thankful community members.
The event is held annually through the efforts of a host of volunteers and as a combined effort of churches and groups across the area. Churches partnering to make the event a success include New Boston First Baptist, New Covenant Life, New Zion Baptist, Tapp Methodist, Gospel Tabernacle, Cross Power Church and Faith Baptist. Volunteers also come from all over Northeast Texas including those from Texarkana, Lindale, Gilmer, Daingerfield and the DFW metroplex.
