DeKalb vs Jefferson-Homecoming
The DeKalb Bears will celebrate homecoming week with a matchup with the Jefferson Bulldogs. The Bears are coming off a 54-0 clawing of the Elysian Fields Yellowjackets while Jefferson lost to Timpson a week ago. The Bears and their high powered offense should win this one easily. Prediction: Bears 45 Jefferson 24
Hooks at home vs Winnsboro
The Hornets show little sign of slowing down with Ripken Birdwell now taking the spas behind center and they still have a lot of weapons to put points on the board. They played strong down the stretch and beat the Cooper Bulldogs 2619 last week but will have a bit of a tougher battle this week as they will host Winnsboro. The Raiders easily defeated Canton last week 54-12 and they can put a lot of points on the board. The Hornets will have to have a stingy defense to win this one. Prediction: Hooks 24 Winnsboro 20
Maud vs Mt Enterprise-Homecoming
The Cardinals are coming off a hard loss this past Friday as they fell to a strong New Diana Eagles team 56-0. Can they bounce back against Mt. Enterprise as the Maud faithful celebrate homecoming? We think they can. Prediction: Maud by 6
James Bowie on the road at Overton
The James Bowie Pirates are a team on a mission under new AD Chance Blackburn and so far this season they have shown they are the team to beat in their district. After shooting down the Hawkins Hawks by a score of 46-13 last week, the Pirates now have their sights trained on Overton. The Mustangs have a junior QB who likes to throw and they have scored 83 points in their first two games. The Pirates will have to control the ball and grind it out to win this one. Prediction: Pirates 42 Overton 30
New Boston at home v Atlanta
The Lions rebounded for a solid 42-20 win over Queen City on Friday and will now face an Atlanta team that scored 30 points late to break a 38-38 tie with Redwater and beat the Dragons 68-38. The Rabbits have scored 68 and 51 in their first two games of the season so this game will come down to defense for the Lions. Prediction: Tossup
Redwater v Winona homecoming
The Dragons are now 1-1 on the season after their loss to Atlanta on Friday and the Redwater faithful will be ready to see a win as they celebrate homecoming this week against Winona. Winona is winless so far this year and don’t look for them to get their first win in Redwater. Prediction: Redwater by four touchdowns
