Brazos County archer Tanner Slaten recently learned that the 50-acre tract of property where he has been hunting the last 15 years will be placed up for sale at the end of the hunting season. Slaten bagged his 150 inch 10 pointer off the property on September 30. He reported to TBR: “What an amazing way to end the 15 years of hunting that place. Big Racks-2023 season living up to preseason forecast for quality bucks in the field
Most wildlife experts agreed early on that Texas deer hunters were going to be pleasantly surprised by the antler quality on whitetail bucks this fall. The reasons? Good carryover of animals that survived the 2022-23 season and banner habitat conditions last spring and early summer to jump start another year of antler growth.
