ROBERT WAYNE USREY

Robert Wayne Usrey of Texarkana, Texas passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at a local care facility.

He was 83.

Robert was born June 28, 1940, in De Kalb, Texas, to Roy Reginald and Sarah Jesteen Davis Usrey. On January 8, 1981, he was married to Micki Lunceford in New Boston, Texas. He was retired from Red River Army Depot where he worked for many years as a Management Analyst. Robert was a member of First United Methodist Church in De Kalb, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents who were very influential in making him into the man he became , Clinton and Margaret Usrey; and aunts, Oleta Chasteen and Rosalie McNease.

He is survived by his wife, Micki Lunceford Usrey of Texarkana, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy Wayne Usrey and Kelly Contella of West, Texas and Scott and Amy Usrey of Redwater, Texas; a daughter and sonin- law, Kristie and Dustin Shepherd of Temple, Texas; a brother, Brad Usrey of Longview, Texas; a special cousin, Annette Holder of De Kalb, Texas; 8 grandchildren and spouses, Chase and Lauren Ann Usrey, Brett and Kelsi Usrey, Chynna Usrey and Christopher Powell, Tai Tuatagaloa, Brooke Usrey, Nik Tipps, Bailey Usrey and Gianna Uren; 7 great grandchildren, Lydia Usrey, Lillian Usrey, Emma Rutledge, Grayson Rutledge, Reid Usrey, Nolan Robert Usrey and Luca Powell; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Rev. Amanda Stratton and Robby Bates officiating. Interment will follow at Woodmen Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 210 W. Austin St., De Kalb, Texas 75559 or to Hospice of Texarkana, 2407 Galleria Oaks, Texarkana, Texas 75503.
