CHARLES TRENT UNDERWOOD
Obituaries
January 17, 2024
CHARLES TRENT UNDERWOOD

Charles Trent Underwood, age 31, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 5th, 2024. Trent was born on August 28th, 1992, in Rome, New York. Trent was a member and served at Maranatha Christian Center in De Kalb, Texas.

Trent had a great love for family and community. He had an enormous passion to serve and care for others.

He was driven to be great at whatever he did. From culinary arts to gourmet coffee or from working on the farm to building a business, he put his heart into what he did. He was slow to anger, and you had to really know him to see it. He always knew where his strength came from. He admired the men in his life and wanted to learn from them. Being the best son, brother, nephew, uncle, friend, co-worker and husband was his everyday goal. Trent was a person you could trust with a commitment. He was honored to be godfather to his nephew (Asher Allan) because of the life he lived and the values he had. He could talk and relate to every person that crossed his path. People never knew why they were attracted to him. Everyone just wanted to be around him. He knew his place in this world was to serve God and love his wife. You could literally see God in his life. The way he loved was like no other. Trent was a fierce competitor at board games and cards. He loved spending time with friends without a care of what they were doing. You could expect a text on Saturday Game Day to stir the pot. He enjoyed movies, funny jokes, fun facts, and generally having fun. Spending time with his new wife was what he cherished most. Wherever Lindsey was, you would find Trent. Dinner dates, cooking at home, movies on the couch with the dogs (Nala & Sky). He was so kind that he had trouble training Nala. His main priority at the end of the day was his wife’s happiness.

Trent was preceeded in death by his Grandparents, Jerry and Vana Underwood of Texarkana, Texas; Grandmother, Elaine Phelps of Hooks, Texas; and Nephew, Jameson Edward Underwood-Rocca of Texarkana, Texas.

Trent leaves behind his wife, Lindsey Underwood of De Kalb, Texas; Father and Stepmother, Jerry and Linda Underwood of De Kalb, Texas; Mother and Stepfather, Marcia and Michael Lewis of Leary, Texas; Sister and Brother- in-law, Kelsey and Jesse Kimball with nephew Asher of Jefferson, Texas; Sister, Hanna Underwood of Texarkana, Texas; Brother, John Robert Clayton and nephew Milo of N. Little Rock, Arkansas; Sister and brother-in-law, Brandi and Damon Branch of Texarkana, Texas; Father-in-law & wife, Blake & Cynthia Messer of Atlanta Texas; Brother- in-law and wife, Shane and Maura Messer of Nacogdoches, Texas; Sister-in-law, Stephanie Messer with nephew Sawyer and niece Emerson of Florida; Sister-in-law and Husband, Laci and Jimmie Page with Nephew Brantley of Texarkana, Arkansas; Sister-in-law, Jessica Barnett of Longview, Texas; and a host of other friends and family.

Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 10, 2023 at Maranatha Christian Center in De Kalb, Texas with Rev. Steve McMichael officiating. Interment will follow at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens in Texarkana, Texas under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Maranatha Christian Center in De Kalb, Texas.
