ROBERT MORGAN MCCLENDON

Robert Morgan “Bob” Mc-Clendon, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

Bob was born in Mercedes, Texas on May 31, 1938 to Robert Ross and Cleda (Ramey) McClendon. He was a member of First Baptist Church, De Kalb, Texas.

Robert was retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company, where he was a Union President. He was the owner of Chem-Dot Chemicals. He enjoyed refinishing antiques, camping in Colorado, and fishing. Robert held many titles in his life, but his favorite roll was being a father and a grandfather. His grandson was the light of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sandra Valasek and Peggy Buchi; and one son, Troy McClendon.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Clark McClendon; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Preston Owen; one grandson, Micah Owen; two sisters, Doris Jones and Linda Walston; and numerous cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Rev. Curtis Hutchinson and Rev. Ken Guthrie officiating. Interment will follow at Woodmen Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas.

Visitation will be held 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
