The James Bowie Pirates are looking for redemption on the diamond this season after missing the playoffs last year. The Pirates look forward to a seasoned squad this year, returning lots of impact players. Head Coach Grayson Requarth says this is his team’s “X Factor.”
“Senior leadership will carry us a long way this year”, said Requarth. “People say that all the time, but I’ve got some very special ones that have been on this team that will start for their fourth year in a row. They’ve started every game they could possibly play. I think that the senior leadership is more special with this team than it is on most teams, just the quality of the kids. I don’t really know how else to describe it. I’ve been a part of a lot of teams, and they’re more special than any seniors I have had.”
“Gunner Robinson is a senior we’re very glad to have back”, said Requarth. “I don’t really know what position he’ll play, he’s been my catcher the last three years.He will be a big piece of our offense this year. He hit two home runs last year.”
