DONALD WAYNE MARTIN

Donald Wayne Martin passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at his home in De Kalb, Texas. He was 84.

Donald was born March 18, 1939 in De Kalb, Texas to Roy and Chleo “Bunny” Hawkins Martin. He was a former teacher and school administrator for De Kalb ISD and is a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association. Donald was a farmer and a member of the Farmers Union. He was a member of First Baptist Church, De Kalb.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Patsy Ann Martin; and one brother, Terry Alan Martin.

He was survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie Martin of De Kalb, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Tad and Cindy Martin of De Kalb, Texas; one daughter and son-inlaw, Donette and Phil McNeil of Augusta, Arkansas; one sister, Venda Burkett of De Kalb, Texas; grandchildren, Jonathan Cigainero of Fayetteville, Arkansas, William Cigainero of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Logan Martin of De Kalb, Texas, Landon Martin of De Kalb, Texas, and Lara Marie Martin of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 2, 2024 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.

Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
