ARTHUR WAYNE LEWIS

Arthur Wayne “Buck” Lewis of Clyde, Texas passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at an Abilene, Texas care facility. He was 86.

Buck was born May 3, 1937 in the College Hill Community of De Kalb, Texas to Robert O. and Mittie G.

Feazel Lewis. He was retired from AT&T. Buck was a member of Siloam Baptist Church where he served 50 years as a Deacon. He was a member of the Dalby Springs Masonic Lodge #874.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Earl Lewis and John Oliver Lewis; and two sisters, Ruth Talbot and Reba Nell “Sandy” Hudson.

He is survived by his wife, Muarl Lewis of Clyde, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Vicki Arlene and Curtis Chiappone of Clyde, Texas; three sisters, Betty Simmons of Fairfax, Virginia, Wanda Ennis of Chesterfield, Missouri, and Carolyn Nota Lewis of Tom, Oklahoma; one grandchild, Nolan Dee Hayhurst and his wife, Laken of Dudley, Texas; three great grandchildren, Cashlyn, Callahan, Chesney; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Siloam Baptist Church in Simms, Texas with Rev. Justin King and Robby Bates officiating. Interment will follow at Woodmen Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas.

Visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Alliance, 100 Memory Lane, Texarkana, TX 75503.
