Local police execute search warrant on suspected drug dealers in New Boston

An inter-agency police force executed a search warrant this morning at 133 Myrtle Drive in New Boston leading to the arrests of several individuals at the residence.

Chief Gary McCrary notified the Tribune of the search warrant execution just after 5 a.m.  McCrary told the Tribune that the residence had been under surveillance for months. The residence is located just across Elm Street from Tapp Park.

According to the press release issued by the NBPD:

On March 29, in the early morning hours, the New Boston narcotics unit, DPS narcotics investigators and De Kalb police executed search warrant at 133 Myrtle, in New Boston. Several people in the residence were detained and some were arrested on outstanding warrants. A short time later, New Boston police officers observed a vehicle drive past the residence several times. Officers observed the vehicle make several traffic violations and a traffic stop was made. Inside the vehicle was the target of the investigation, who resided at the residence. Barry Fields was arrested on several outstanding felony warrants and taken into custody. As a result of the search warrant methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia were found along with evidence of drug sales. This is an ongoing investigation and further information will be given at a later date.
