Goodsell working hard to make Bear Tan and DK Nutrition a success

Goodsell working hard to make Bear Tan and DK Nutrition a success

DK Nutrition in De Kalb, TX has served as a gateway for health fanatics for many years and a location change has made for nothing but exponential business growth.

First opened by Haellie and Lindsey Hart in October 2020, DK Nutrition provides individuals with services to fulfill their daily fitness, health and nutritional needs.

The business was recently taken over by Savannah Goodsell, one of the company’s devoted employees, after its original owners decided to pursue other passions.

“Whenever I was given the opportunity to purchase this business, I couldn’t not buy it,” said Goodsell. “I wanted to turn it into something more for the people of De Kalb.”

DK Nutrition offers a range of Herbalife products such as meal replacement shakes, energy drinks, energy shots, and parfait cups. The company is planning to extend its menu with new additions including smoothie bowls and bubble tea drinks.

“I’m some people’s first stop in the morning before they go to work,” said Goodsell. “I had someone come to me and say, ‘I worked out today so I’m gonna treat myself with a drink,’ so I don’t think it’s just a “cup of tea” that I’m selling. It’s so much more.”

DK Nutrition works as a sister location for Bear Tan, another business that Goodsell inherited from local entrepreneurs Tammy Caton and Kenneth Crouch.

Bear Tan hosts amenities such as Level 4 tanning with options including stand-up or lay-down tanning beds.

Goodsell said community members often mentioned the struggles of having to travel great lengths for quality tanning services which inspired her to expand business potential.

“We’ve had a great outcome so far. We would just like to see De Kalb grow and have more opportunities so people don’t have to travel so far to do things,” she said. Standing as a De Kalb native, Goodsell has provided countless hours of service and she continues to prove her faithfulness by creating long-lasting friendships with members of her community. She attended De Kalb High School until her sophomore year where she later graduated from Avery High School.

She is married to Sean Goodsell, and spends most of her time nurturing their two beautiful children, Caton and Wilder.

Goodsell would like to express her sincere gratitude toward her friends, family and the community for their unconditional love and support.

Bear Tan and DK Nutrition are located at 309 W. Grizzley in DeKalb and both can be reached by calling 903387-5123.
