Summer is just around the corner and with that comes the time of year for two major activities around the
cattle operation, putting up hay for the winter and deworming the cow herd. Both of these important
topics will be the focus of a program being held May 2 in New Boston.
Make plans now to attend this FREE Beef Cattle Workshop on Thursday, May 2, at the New Boston
Community Center (301 NE Front Street, New Boston) to Gear Up for Hay Season and Brush Up on Your
Cattle De-Worming Strategies.
This meeting is being sponsored by the Bowie County Livestock and Forage Committee with the meal being
provided by AgTrust Farm Credit of New Boston. The speakers for the evening will be Drs. Vanessa Corriher-
Olson and Jason Banta, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Specialist located at Overton.
Dinner will be served beginning at 5:30 PM and the program will begin at 6:00 PM. Please RSVP by April 29

meal. This promises to be a great program. One hour of General CEU Credit will be offered to participants
with Texas Department of Agriculture pesticide licenses.
