Following last night’s storms, straight line winds have caused widespread power outages across our area with downed trees and lines in every part of our coverage area.
This morning, Bowie-Cass is reporting a total of 10,240 meters without power. The country breakdown is as follows:
Titus- 5,300+
Bowie- 2,000+
Morris- 1,800+
Cass- 1,100+
Red River- 15
Bowie -Cass says on their website that damage assessments are under way this morning, with numerous fallen trees and broken poles and cross arms. They have three damaged arrestors within substations that have our Liberty Hill, Chapel Hill, and Omaha substations offline. They have crews working to get those replaced so we can heat up the substations.
Bowie-Cass also reports that all available personnel are out in the field working to restore power and that they have requested aid from other cooperatives to get extra hands on deck soon.
SWEPCO is reporting a little over 1,000 outages in an area from New Boston to Texarkana and roughly 7,000 total outages in Northeast Texas including major outages in the Mount Pleasant area.
Repairs will take time and residents without power are urged to be patient and make arrangements to deal with the results of an extended outage.
