Avery One Act Play heads for state competition
The cast from Avery High School’s one act play will be heading to state to perform “The Voice of the Prairie” on May 13 following a first place finish at the Region 3 1-A competition last month. In the regional competition, Shawn Lamon was awarded best overall performer and Kendall Jackson was named all-star cast. Honorable mention all-star cast performances went to Thomas Cantrell and Margo Pirkey and the ensemble cast featuring Xander Ackley, Adyn Childres, Cooper Coughran, Mariah Cortez, James DeLong, Madison Klemme, Storey McEwin, Jaci Moore and Alex Peek.Brookly Puckett (second from left) was named outstanding tech. A public performance will be held at the Pleasant Grove High School auditorium at 8 p.m. on May 16.
