I-30 interchange night work scheduled; other work requires closure of ramp

The following information involves work scheduled to take place on Interstate 30 in Texarkana

this week and next week. Please keep in mind that the work schedule is subject to delays or changes due

to unforeseen circumstances including weather.

  • Thursday, May 16, 8 p.m. – 6 a.m., crews will be working at the eastbound I-30 to southbound
  •          I-369/US 59 interchange. This work will require closing eastbound I-30 Exit 220A (I-369/US 59) and the
  •          outside lane of I-30 eastbound. Motorists that need to access I-369/US 59 south will use Exit 219 and travel
  •          the frontage road. This work is expected to be completed in one night.

  • Beginning Friday, May 17, the eastbound I-30 entrance ramp between Summerhill Road and State
  •          Line Avenue will be closed. Motorists that need to access eastbound I-30 will travel the frontage
  •          road to State Line Avenue, through the traffic signal and then enter the eastbound I-30 travel lanes between
  •          State Line Avenue and Jefferson Avenue. This work is expected to take two weeks.

  • Work continues at eastbound I-30 Exit 223 (US 71/US 59/State Line Avenue) and along the frontage road.
  •          Motorists that need to access US 71/US 59/State Line Avenue will use Exit 222 and travel the frontage road.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead in case of delays in daily commutes and watch for crews working.

TxDOT reminds local commuters that the I-30 Frontage Road system allows traffic to travel eastbound from

FM 989/Kings Highway to US 71/State Line Avenue and westbound from US 71/State Line Avenue to FM 989/Kings

Highway, continuously, without ever stopping at a traffic signal.

Motorists can check traffic updates by visiting www.drivetexas.org.
