GILBERT DALE RANKIN

Gilbert Dale Rankin of De Kalb, Texas passed away Monday, June 10, 2024 at a Texarkana, Texas care facility. He was 82. Gilbert was born October 19, 1941 in De Kalb, Texas to Evan Jacob and Jessie Ballard Rankin. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired mechanic for Red River Army Depot.

Gilbert was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Flora Edwards Rankin; and one son, Jeremy Shane Rankin.

He is survived by two sons, Kevin Rankin of De Kalb, Texas and Russel and Rachel Rankin of De Kalb, Texas; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Helen and Wayne Rhea of De Kalb, Texas and Hazel Jean Love of De Kalb, Texas; grandchildren, Robbie Rankin, Railey Rankin, Jacob Holbrook, and Madison Holbrook; great grandchild, Hailey Crawford; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Woodmen Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home with Robby Bates officiating.
