GLADYS MARIE ROBERTSON

Gladys Marie Robertson, age 94, of New Boston, Texas, departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on June 22, 2024. She was born May 24,1930 in New Boston, Texas to Jessie Forrest Kennington and Louise Kennington. Mrs.

During her free time, she especially enjoyed cooking for her family and working in her yard and garden tending to roses and irises. She was famous for making chocolate, coconut, and pecan pies. Everyone always looked forward to a meal at her home. Cooking and expressing her love for family and friends came naturally. Marie was affectionately known as a member of the New Boston Church of Christ. She worked closely with her husband, Wyndell to grow the congregation for over 60 years. Marie was a dedicated Christian woman who loved the Lord and took great pride in her family name Robertson.

When her grandchildren were asked how they remembered her, their responses were: “She is a lover of all things, especially birds and bunnies.” – Grayson Ponder “She is family-oriented, Godly and a caretaker.” – Zachary Ponder “She was a storyteller with a loving and Godly heart.” – Brandon Ponder “I remember her faith.” – Austin Robertson “I remember her warm hugs and sweet smile.”– Lindsay Wilson “I remember her devotion to God, her family, and ability to make you feel loved.” – Caroline Yates Also known as a wonderful, inspiring, and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband for over 60 years, Morris Wyndell Robertson, parents Frost and Louise Kennington and father-in-law and mother-in-law Morris Wheeler Robertson and Connie Kazetta Robertson.

Left to cherish her memory she is survived by her daughter, Connie Louise Ponder and son, James Wyndell Robertson, her son-in-law, Johnny Richard Ponder and daughter-in-law Kathrine Lynn Robertson including six grandchildren, Brandon Ponder, Zachary Ponder, Grayson Ponder, Austin Robertson, Lindsay Wilson and Caroline Yates along with their spouses Leslie Ponder, Crista Ponder, Maddie Ponder, Ashley Robertson, Bryan Wilson and Austin Yates.

She was most proud of her six grandchildren but her great grandchildren held a special place in her heart and brought her unending joy that she always cherished. Her great grandchildren, Jaxon Ponder, Mila Ponder, Kinley Wilson, George Robertson, Adelyn Wilson, Charlie Robertson and Hayes Wilson will continue her legacy. She is also survived by Decker Kennington, brother and youngest member of the Kennington family and a large number of relatives and friends.
