MIKE DEBERRY

Mike DeBerry of De Kalb, Texas passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 at a Texarkana, Texas hospital. He was 70.

Mike was born December 11, 1953, in Sherman, Texas, to Raymond and Mable Crews DeBerry. On February 12, 1982, he was married to Donna Miller in Sherman, Texas. He was a retired Paramedic from LifeNet, where he was a founding member and served as an EMT for 27 years. Mike loved his community and lead a life of service. He was retired from the De Kalb Volunteer Fire Department, was a former City Councilman, a Past President of the Chamber of Commerce and always gave his time supporting community events like De Kalb Oktoberfest. He was a member of First Baptist Church in De Kalb where he served in the Youth Ministries and lead countless trips to Falls Creek Church Camp.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James DeBerry; and a niece, Jennifer DeBerry.

He is survived by his wife, Donna DeBerry of De Kalb, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jef and Crista Carr of De Kalb, Texas and Jason Michael and Lacey DeBerry of Malta, Texas; a sister-in-law, Fredericka DeBerry of Brenham, Texas; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debbie and Dennis Wandrey of De Kalb, Texas; a brotherin- law and sister-in-law, Scout and Cie Walker of Royce City, Texas; nieces and nephews, James DeBerry of Midland, Texas, Geoff DeBerry of Houston, Texas, Erin Wandrey of Dallas, Texas, Dan Wandrey of Rockwall, Texas, Cianna McClosky of Lavon, Texas and Mikaila Walker of Garland, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Kailey Carr, Kenzie Carr, Kourtney Carr, Khloe Carr, Aiden Carr, Noah Carr, John Luke Carr, Zane DeBerry, Leah DeBerry, Ace De-Berry and Falcon DeBerry; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, September 5, 2024 at First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas with Rev. James Sparks officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, September 5, 2024 First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas.
