ABRAM L. WINTERS

Abram L. Winters, age 92 of New Boston, Texas passed away October 21, 2024, in a local Retirement Center after a long illness. Dr. Winters was born January 23, 1932, in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

He was a retired Presbyterian Minister, Graduate of the USAF Air University, United States Airforce and Korean War Veteran and also a Lt. Colonel in the Civil Air Patrol. He served as Police Chaplain in Ashdown, Arkansas, a CASA volunteer and was the Dean of Education of Southern Technical College. Dr. Winters was also an Electronic Engineer for RCA, Sperry Rand Corporation and Celotex Corp. In his spare time, he was an amateur radio operator for nearly 50 years.

Survivors include his wife Ruth, two sons, Jack and Michael Winters of California, one daughter Caroline Abbott of Otsego, Michigan, 4 grandchildren, Anneliese, Elizabeth, Laura and Timothy Abbott of Otsego, Michigan, one brother, James Winters of California one stepdaughter, Dina Edwards of New Boston, Texas and a number of other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home – New Boston, Texas.
