MICHAEL GLENN SIMPSON

Michael Glenn Simpson of Hooks, Texas passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024 at a New Boston, Texas care facility. He was 74.

Michael was born April 26, 1950, in New Boston, Texas to Bobby and Leta Davis Simpson. He was a retired Plant Manager in the oil industry for many years. Michael attended the Assembly of God Gospel Tabernacle in New Boston, Texas. He loved fishing and was very active with the CMA Prison Ministries. He also served his country with pride in the United States Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and Lewis Banton; wife, Helen Simpson; and one brother, Scott Simpson.

Michael is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Deana Simpson of De Kalb, Texas; three daughters and sons-in law, Leta and Demetric Johnson of Hooks, Texas, Gloria and Dustin Jacops of De Kalb, Texas, DeLana Usrey and Paul Brown of Kinston, Oklahoma; one sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Doug Laukhuf of Mansfield, Texas; seven grandchildren, Alexis Simpson, Michael Simpson, Christie Johnson, Abigale Jacops, Gracie Jacops, Dustin Jacops, Jr., and Brooke Ables; 12 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at the Assembly of God Gospel Tabernacle in New Boston, Texas with Brother Cade Rich officiating.

Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
