MAJORIE (MARGIE) MCMILLAN
Obituaries
February 5, 2025
MAJORIE (MARGIE) MCMILLAN

Marjorie (Margie) McMillan was born on February 4, 1933, to Floyd and Betty Holt. Mrs. McMillan was a lifelong Christian of unwavering faith and believed that her exodus from this world was her long-awaited arrival home.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy “Bucky” McMillan, brothers, Ellis Holt and Floyd Holt Jr., and nephew, Michael Holt.

Left to cherish her memory are son Cary McMillan and wife LaQuita, daughters, Diane McMillan Peterson, Lesa McMillan Wardell Jenkins and husband Jordan, and brother James Louis Holt, grandchildren Erin Freeman and husband Derek, Brandon Wardell, Heather Wardell, Jesse Jenkins and great grandchildren McKenzie Mitchell Hinderer and husband Will, Archer Freeman and Ripley Freeman and many other relatives and friends.

Margie was a spitfire redhead raised in the country hauling water while riding mules and saplings. She married the love of her life Bucky at 17 years old and together they shared 66 years of marriage, life and love. In those years, Margie traveled the world and raised hell while raising three children. She was renowned for her phenomenal craft in the kitchen, her expert seamstress skills and two green thumbs that any gardener would envy. She has been a lifelong lover of animals, some of her favorites being her pet chicken (Lil Bit) and her precious Peppermint Pattie. She was a fearless protector of children and defender of the weak (with whispers that her right hook was unmatched.) Margie was an avid reader, a card shark at rummy and never met a crossword puzzle that she didn’t dominate. She leaves her loved ones with innumerable stories, invaluable experiences and unmatched beauty.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Malta Cemetery at 11 a.m. with visitation at 10 a.m. Visitation will also be Friday, February 7, 2025, at Bates-Rolf Chapel from 6-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital. Online memorials may be made at www.batesrolffuneralhome.com
