Big wins across the board in Tuesday night softball action

The DeKalb Lady Bears won their 6th straight with a 16-1 district win over the Lady Lions of New Boston Tuesday night. The Lady Bears are now ranked at #10 in the state polls.

Addison Starrett was the big stick for DeKalb as she went 2-for-3 with five RBI’s in the big district win. Kaydee Brown and TT Ingram also had a pair of runs batted in for the Lady Bears who rocked the New Boston pitching arsenal for 16 hits in the game.

Ace hurler Kaydee Brown earned the win on the bump for the Lady Bears allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out eight.

The Lady Bears will be at Redwater on Friday with game time scheduled for 6 p.m.

 

The 20th ranked  Hooks Lady Hornets also notched another win as they put up 10 runs in the first frame and went on to an 18-0 shutout of Liberty-Eylau last night.

The ladies from Hooks were bolstered by a strong outing from pitcher Stella Fincher who was just two walks away from a perfect game. Fincher allowed no hits or runs and struck out seven in her three inning outing.

At the plate, the Lady Hornets got two hits apiece from Anna Beth Black, Zoey Greenwood and Keeli Harris  Harris, Hadlee Grant and Zoe Herring each had a pair of RBI’s in the blowout victory.

The Lady Hornets are scheduled to return to action on Friday on the road at Atlanta with the first pitch scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

 

The Maud Lady Cardinals got back in the win column Tuesday night with a 10-0 shutout of the Harts Bluff Lady Bulldogs.

Hurler Keira Mangtamag had her A game on the hill for Maud as she gave up just four hits and struck out nine in her shutout performance.

At the plate, Brooke Allison paced the Lady Cards with three hits including a triple and a pair of singles that produced three runs batted in. Mangtamag also accounted for a pair of RBI’s and teammates Audrey Hillis and Aleigh Carrell had an RBI apiece.

The ladies from Maud will face Harts Bluff again this Friday on the road with game time scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

 

The Lady Pirates of James Bowie overcame a 6-0 early game deficit to come back and earn a 10-9 victory over Linden-Kildare last night at L-K.

The Lady Pirates notched runs in five straight innings and took a 10-7 lead into the final frame and held on for the win.

Abigail Dial, Alleyah Franco and Tatum Tyndell each had a pair of hits in the contest for James Bowie. Dial had a pair of RBI’s including a homerun, and Annzla Holt and Franco each had a pair of runs batted in.

The Lady Pirates will host L-K this Friday with game time slated for 6 p.m.
