WORRIS GENE “BOOT” HARDWICK SR.

Honoring the Life of Worris Gene “Boot” Hardwick Sr., born August 1, 1947 in Foreman Arkansas to his loving parents, Ruthie and Autry Hardwick Sr., whom preceded him in death. He was the youngest of twelve children.

Worris gave his life to Christ at an early age and later became a Deacon at Beaver Dam Baptist Church until his health failed, yet he was a member until God called him home. Worris served in the United States Army for five years before he was honorably discharged in 1980 as an Infantryman and expert rifleman.

Worris is best remembered as Father, Husband, PawPaw, Brother, Uncle, Mentor, Veteran, Deacon, Fisherman, Hunter and Lover of the Dallas Cowboys. A man who lived life to the fullest with strength and perseverance. Through the loss of numerous loved ones and many years of illness, Worris overcame it all with resilience.

Services will be 12:00 PM Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas. Interment will follow at Beaver Dam Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, April 11, 2025 at Bates Family funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.

Repast will be held immediately after interment at Reed V Building in De Kalb, Texas Online registration at www.batesfamilyfuneralhome.com.
