ROGER DALE SHUMAKE

Roger Dale Shumake, 75, of De Kalb, Texas, passed away peacefully April 24, 2025 at the Clarksville Nursing Center.

Roger was born on May 21, 1949, in De Kalb, Texas to Robert (Pete) and Erma Shumake. He worked in the brick masonry field in his early life. Roger followed in his mother’s footsteps with his love for art. Roger generously gave everyone he knew a picture showing his love for the Lord. He wanted to make sure everyone knew the Lord as he did. Roger was a member of the Pinkham Missionary Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Erma Shumake, Alver Shumake, and his great nephews, Timothy and Nick Shumake.

Roger is survived by his nephews, Tony (Barbara) Shumake and Wade (Debbie) Shumake; great nieces, Lacey (Trey) Mullins, Tiffany (Billy) Norton, Kelsey (Levi) Mc-Dermott; and great nephew, Brody (Sara) Shumake all of De Kalb, Texas; and eight great-great nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Brother Dean Grigsby officiating.
