CLAUDE IDA GRIDER

Claude Ida Grider (Bubba), age 66, lived and died on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Mr. Grider was born July 18, 1958, in Texarkana, Texas, to Claude Grider Jr. and Reba May Grider. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Grider Jr.; grandparents, Claude Id and Lucille Martin Grider, Harry and Florence Gray May.

Claude is survived by his wife of 20 years, Betty Gregory Grider, of Grand Junction, Colorado; his daughters, Elaine Lee Taylor and husband, Walter, Rock Comfort, Mo; Chasity Rose Gortney and husband, Kurt, Texarkana, Tx; Charlene Nicole Grider, Ashville, Al; his sons Cody Claude Grider, Ashville, Al; John Claude Grider Sumiton, Al; step-son and wife, Paul and Toni Gregory of Siloam Springs, Ar; 22 grandchildren, 2-step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren; his mother, Reba Grider; 2 sisters, Jane Grider Hopkins, New Boston, Tx; Ronda and husband, Aaron Jones, New Boston, Tx; and number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

Claude graduated from New Boston High School and was employed as a mechanic in Hooks, Tx, for several years and as a millwright for Trinity Industries, while he lived in Longview, Tx. He served as a DA civilian supporting the military at Red River Army Deport. He served as a deputy sheriff in a local county when he lived in Foreman, Ar., just before he retired on disability. As a hobby, he enjoyed working on hot rods and racing at Texarkana Speed Bowl with his dad, his sister, Jane, and Kenny Lancaster. He was a member of the New Boston Church of God.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 2 PM at the Bates-Rolf Funeral Home with the visitation one hour before the service at 1-2 PM.
