Jeffrey David Jenkins, of Huntsville, Alabama went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in the Huntsville hospital.
Jeffrey Jenkins, 43, was born in Texarkana to Dr. David and Rebecca (Morehead) Jenkins on July 6, 1981. He graduated from Hooks High School in 1999 where he loved marching and playing French horn in the band.
He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University – Texarkana. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree, he taught one year at the Mumford High School. In 2003-2005 he attended the Army Logistics Leadership Center in the Fellows Program at the Red River Army Depot. Upon graduating, he then transferred to U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama. He became part of the G8 Army Working Capital Fund (AWCF) Management Division in the AWCF Support Branch, where he served as a program analyst in the AWCF Price and Credit team.
While in Hooks, he was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hooks. Jeffrey was a friend to everyone and always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed playing the piano and cello. He presented a piano concert at the George Bush Library. Also, he enjoyed history, foreign languages, cooking, reading, and liked playing with his rabbit and cats. His greatest love was his family, especially his nephews.
He is survived by his parents, Dr. David and Rebecca Jenkins of Hooks, TX: sister Jessica (Jenkins) Zimmerman of New Boston, TX; nephews Tanner Zimmerman also of New Boston, and Zane Zimmerman of Lubbock TX; and three aunts Sherrill Lou Wendel of Hays, Kansas and Carroll Lee Bruggeman of Phillipsburg, Kansas, Martha Winke of Streamwood, IL and one uncle Stanley Winke of Streamwood, IL.
Visitation will be held on Thursday May 8, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm and Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home, New Boston, Texas.
