ARVIE JOE OWEN

Arvie Joe Owen, age 89, of De Kalb, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025.

He was born on February 16, 1936, to Arvie Gentry Owen and Exa Havana Telford Owen. He married the love of his life, Pam Raleigh, in 1960, and they shared 64 wonderful years together.

Arvie Joe proudly served in the Texas National Guard during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and later retired as a Production Controller from Red River Army Depot. After retirement from Red River Army Depot, Arvie Joe worked several years at Johnston Ford in New Boston, Texas. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of De Kalb, Texas where he served as a Deacon for many years. His faith and commitment to community extended to his Masonic service-he was a 50-year member of De Kalb Masonic Lodge No. 9 and a member of the Scottish Rite, and Shriners.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carmen Owen; one brother, Quincy Bob Owen; and one niece, Lisa Fannin.

Arvie Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Pam Owen of De Kalb, Texas; sister-in-law, Kay Smith of De Kalb, Texas; and numerous extended family members and cherished friends.

Arvie Joe will be remembered for his steadfast faith, loyal service, and loving heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas, with Reverend James Sparks officiating. Interment will follow at Lydia Cemetery in Lydia, Texas.

Visitation will be held 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund and the Lydia Cemetery, C/O P.O. Box 400, De Kalb, Texas 75559.
