Dale Bounds, a former president of the Texas State Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, recently harvested this mature eastern wild turkey gobbler in Newton County. Bounds, 82, made the hunt despite limited mobility and a torn rotator cuff that prevented him from shouldering his 12-gauge without the aid of a brace.
