The basketball season is coming down to the wire, and several Bowie County teams have either punched their playoff tickets or are on their way to doing so.
In District 14-3A, Hooks and New Boston are tied for the district lead going into the district’s final regular season game, held Tuesday. The winner of Tuesday’s game between the Lady Lions and Lady Hornets will claim the district title. The loser will fall to 8-4 and possibly into a three-way tie for second place, depending on the outcome of Queen City’s game against Pewitt, also on Tuesday. Atlanta’s bye came on the final night of the regular season.
Queen City swept New Boston and was swept by Hooks, giving the Lady Bulldogs the advantage over the Lady Lions and the Lady Hornets the upper hand over the Lady Bulldogs.
