Round 2 of the Texas High School Football Playoffs brought close games and marked the end of the season for several teams.
The New Boston Lions fell to the very talented Newton Eagles 65-8. Newton is 11-1 on the year and is favored for a successful run at the state title.
The DeKalb Bears lost in a hard fought battle to the Daingerfield Tigers. The Bears rushed 49 times for 252 yards and had 5 passing completions for 118 yards. Kaleb Dooley threw 2 touchdown passes to Xavier Hawkins. Kiondre Schlesinger rushed 12 times for 77 yards. Amar Love had 10 carries for 66 yards and 1 touchdown. The Bears fell to Daingerfield 29-22.
