The investigation into a fire at the old rodeo arena in DeKalb continues with officials at the State Fire Marshall’s office now waiting for tests on forensic evidence found at the scene to determine whether arson charges will be filed once a suspect has been identified.
City officials called both the FBI and the Texas Rangers to assist in the investigation but neither organization offered assistance.
DeKalb had a visit from District 1 Congressman Nathaniel Moran on Friday. Moran came to DeKalb at the request of Mayor Lowell Walker and met in a closeddoor session with local leaders about the incident and gave his full support to the community to assist in any way possible.
