New Boston The New Boston Lions were able to get things going in their week 2 victory over Queen City.
The Lions defense held Queen City to 2 total yards of offense. Connor Bobbitt and Kason Watts each had a sack, Shawn Veals ended the night with 3. Jeremiah Hardeman had 7 tackles on the night, 5 of which were for a loss of yardage. The Lion offense had 42 carries for 321 yards. QB Xavier Rowden went 3 for 4 in passing for a total of 24 yards. Hardeman had 10 rushes for 92 yards and 5 touchdowns. Jonah Sanchez had 6 rushes for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns. William Henson had 1 reception for 24 yards and a touchdown. DeKalb Coming off of a week one bye, the DeKalb Bears won their season opener against Elysian Fields in week two with a final score of 44-12. The Bear offense stacked up 319 rushing yards and 25 passing yards. Amar Love rushed for 176 yards and 2 touchdowns. Winky Williams had 11 carries for 92 yards scoring 2 touchdowns and a 2 point conversion. On the other side of the ball, senior transfer Kiondre Schlesinger had 11 tackles and 1 interception returned for a touchdown. Williams also had 11 tackles on the night.
