In baseball action around the area last night, the New Boston Lions tallied a big win as they scored five runs in their half of the 1st and then scored five more times in the 5th to power to a 12-9 win over the host Hooks Hornets.
It was a huge day at the plate for New Boston’s Caden Glass as he was 4-for-4 with four runs scored and a pair of RBI’s to pace the Lions’ onslaught. Lane McMillan was 3-for-3 with three RBI’s for Hooks.
Senior hurler Kyle Atkinson notched the win on the mound for New Boston. Atkinson allowed six runs on five hots and struck out nine in four plus innings of work. Connor Bobbitt threw two and a third innings in relief for the Lions. Ty Thomerson took the loss for Hooks allowing 11 runs on 13 hits while striking out five.
