“Where does honey come from?”

“Where does honey come from?”

No, the answer is NOT “From the grocery store.”

Most children will respond, “Bees collect it from the flowers,” which is not accurate. Many adults will then answer, “From the pollen.” Nope. Honeybees make honey. Honeybees are the only insect that produces a food that humans can eat.

Honey has been a food for humans since biblical times and is mentioned over 60 times in the Scriptures. The land promised to Israel was described as “a land flowing with milk and honey.” As a sweetener, honey is unmatched in its versatility, properties, and taste according to www.honey.com, the American Honey Producers’ website.
