It seems to me as if I write this same column, or some variation of it every year as we get ready to celebrate the 4th of July, but it is a message we still need to hear.
As we get ready to celebrate our country’s independence, it comes to my mind that we all ought to be more appreciative of the freedoms that we enjoy. These freedoms were not free, but rather bought and paid for in blood, the blood of our own.
These freedoms allow us things like speaking our mind, going to the church we want, or maybe not going to church at all, and living in a country where we can go and vote and elect those that lead us. I refuse to talk about politics much here in this space, but I always say, if you don’t like your leaders, get out, go vote, and elect new ones.
