The last couple of issues of the Tribune you have been given a good amount of information regarding the school bond elections in both Maud and New Boston.
One thing is for sure, it is hard to argue the point that improving school facilities has to be a good thing for our students and teachers, and as far as I know, nobody can be against an effort to make things better for our kids and the ones who teach them.
In New Boston, Superintendent Brian Bobbitt and the school board have promised to get what they can done with an improved bond sale, WITHOUT RAISING THE TAX RATE. Now I don’t know what you think, but I think that is a dang good thing. The approval of the New Boston ISD bond sale will enable the district to make some much needed upgrades to the district that will benefit the whole community. New instruction facilities is never a bad thing, and some upgrades to other areas will go towards making the NBISD one of the best around our little corner of the world. And, the district is even going to pay for some of those upgrades out of pocket, without including them in the bond sale, creating another action that will allow them to get this done without raising your taxes.
