We just got a little rain.
Rain is a frequent occurrence in our neck of the woods and is usually a blessing. The rain gauge showed only 0.1 inches of precipitation, certainly not anything to write home about. It takes a lot of 0.1-inch rains to make our annual average of 45 inches here in northeast Texas.
A small amount of rain is usually not a problem, but… that rain was different. That 0.10 of rain slammed down in about two nano-seconds and was aided by wind gusts exceeding 50 mph. That combination was a five-minute problem requiring a multi-year fix, at least at our homeplace.
