I had lunch with a homeless friend Saturday in the wonderful breeze of hope and yes, in the real gusts that sent our napkins flying. We laughed together and rejoiced in our friendship, and my friend shared her joy at some possibilities and opened doors too. And we then prayed over Sonic drinks and chicken and guidance from the Lord..
Earlier, the message at church lifted my heart, challenged me, and enlightened me. So, sitting with my friend, we found common ground and talked about those verses found in Genesis, those about Noah. We also discussed the olive leaf and salvation, and the first thing Noah did after the flood—he built an altar to God!
Then we went shopping, and I stacked our stuff in the cart in the reverse order (from how you all might) and ended up placing two cases of water on top of the soft and cushy items. On top of the lighter things. On top of what used to be toilet paper until I smashed it!
