Seasons change. Of course I’m talking about sports and not the weather. We are in the beginnings of a transition from the fall sports to the winter sports, and with that change comes great anticipation and expectations.
For many schools in our area basketball practices starts this week and the first games have already begun. DeKalb, Redwater, and Maud have already made the change. New Boston boys, Hooks girls, James Bowie girls have as well. So pay attention to the paper in the coming days as I expect you will see many opportunities to see the teams playing in local and regional tournaments across this area.
There are a few holdouts from the fall. Hooks and James Bowie both made the playoffs in football. At the beginning of the season neither team was picked to make the playoffs in their respective districts, but THAT’S WHY YOU PLAY THE GAMES. I’ll give my end of the season review soon and give out my awards. James Bowie plays Friday night in Mt. Pleasant and Hooks plays Friday night in Pittsburg. Good luck to both teams.
