In life, and in sports, there are so many different facets that have to be addressed on a daily basis. Sometimes you win against all odds, and sometimes you lose when there was absolutely nobody that thought you would. That is just the way it is, though it doesn’t make it any easier when it happens.
Last night, all four girl’s teams in 14-3A lost in the first round of the postseason. Going into the night, I don’t think there was anyone who thought that would happen. I can guarantee that New Boston, Atlanta, Paul Pewitt and even DeKalb showed up for their games expecting to win. I know that in my heart, because that is how winners think. The Lady Bears walked onto the floor and got ready to tipoff against the #1 ranked team in the state from Chapel Hill, and I know without a doubt that when their sneakers first touched that gym floor in Paris, they believed they could win.
Now, I can’t speak for Atlanta or Pewitt, I don’t know those girls, or their coaches, but that is not the case with New Boston and DeKalb.
