Jonathan Matlock, bailiff at the Bowie County Courthouse, was presented with a life saving award for his heroics off duty.
While driving on State Line Avenue, Matlock saw a man who had fallen off his bicycle near the intersection of North State Line and West 52nd Street. When he approached, Matlock said the man was unresponsive and had turned blue in color.
He and another man who had arrived on scene began life-saving measures. When paramedics and first responders arrived, the man regained consciousness.
Matlock said he still does not know the identity of the man who he helped save.
