National Day of Prayer ceremony set for May 4 in NB

The first National Day of Prayer took place in 1775 when the Continental Congress proclaimed “a day of public humiliation, fasting and prayer” be created. In 1952, National Day of Prayer was signed into law by President Harry S. Truman and amended in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan naming the assigned day as the first Monday in May.
