The Bowie County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Directors would like to acknowledge the 2023 District Conservation Poster and Essay Contest winners. In the Poster contest, 1 st Place was awarded to Darla Griggs from Redwater Intermediate School, 2 nd Place was awarded to Nevaeh Matlock from Liberty Elau Middle School, and 3 rd Place was awarded to Madalyn James from Malta ISD. In the Essay Contest, 1 st Place was awarded to Tyler Hawkins from DeKalb High School, 2 nd Place was awarded to Chloe Smith from DeKalb High School, and 3 rd Place was awarded to Kyndra Andrews from DeKalb High School.
This year’s theme was “One Water.” The contest was open to all boys and girls age 18 years and under, and enrolled in a Bowie County School. Thank you to all participants from our local schools.
