Prayers for deep waters

There is so much going on in our little corner of the world and we have to start by saying our prayers go out to all of those who were impacted by the recent storms. The tornado outbreak that swept across NE Texas a week ago left a path of destruction and lives changed forever.

I have a host of friend who have lived through the damage and destruction that a tornado leaves in its wake, for most of them there are memories, and fears, that they will never forget. No doubt, last week’s storms created a whole new set of those memories and fears. Yet, through it all, we can see glimpses of God’s grace and mercy, and signs of hope fostered by all of those who have rallied to the aid of their friends, neighbors and complete strangers.

All across the area we have seen so many come offering help in one way or another. Over and over and over after the tornadoes swept through, relief efforts were inundated with donations. I saw one relief center have to turn away donations of clothing simply because there were too many.
