Local Mother Shares Her Personal Journey for National Bereaved Parent Awareness Month

The loss of a child is undoubtedly a parent’s worst nightmare.  As parents, even before the birth of a child, we love them fiercely and have hopes and dreams for their futures.  Each year, July is recognized as National Bereaved Parents Awareness Month, dedicated to raising awareness of the support necessary when one loses a child.  It’s a group of people no one wants to be included in, but that desperately need the support and prayers of others in order to carry on.

Last year was a rough one for our area.  We lost several local young people to accidents and senseless acts.   As a community, our hearts were broken for the lives cut short and for the families left devastated by the loss of their loved ones.  Among these families was the Brookes family.
